Our mission is to create, not only to fulfil a function, but also to captivate, inspire, invigorate and even entertain!
Pursuit
“From creations that hug the walls to practical ones you can put your tea cup on, we create for spaces. From items that wrap around your waist to ones that hug you, luxuriously draping over your shoulders, we create for people. From designs that catch the eye, to those that capture the imagination, we design for the soul. Our mission is to create, not only to fulfil a function, but also to captivate, inspire and even entertain!”
About
Lesniche
“Lesniche was born from Art and Canvas. It was founded initially as a publishing company for the founders Artwork and book. It has since grown to incorporate Fashion and Home Living, making Marble tables, Cheese platters, Scarves, Pocket Squares and more.”
“The Artwork from the “Volutionism” Collection has formed the basis for Lesniche’s visual identity, focusing on symmetry, precision and creativity with a distinct geometric style. We coined the term Volutionism to represent our Artistic style and this Visual philosophy. This Identity follows through, in one form or another, to all of Lesniche’s current products and endeavours.”
Founders
Anisha Burman and Leslie Mwambazi are both Artists based in London UK and are the Husband and wife team behind Lesniche. They are of Indian and African descent respectively, and have lived in the UK for over 2 decades. They’ve known each other since 2002 and formed Lesniche in 2007.
“Over the years we have explored our shared interest in many areas including Music, Photography, Art and Design. As Artists and directors of Lesniche, we continue to play a pivotal role in our business, designing the products, liaising and working with our partners and manufacturers, and communicating with our clients and customers. Working in a more niche fashion has allowed us to have much closer interactions with our customers, which has been beneficial in developing our identity. We are now in the process of expanding our focus to a wider audience.”

Ethos
The welfare of everyone involved in our business is important to us and we strive to source our products ethically. This can be challenging in a traditional industry such as Stone and Marble work. We find often the choice is between items made mostly by hand, which preserve the trade, skills and income of Artisans but can be physically gruelling to produce, and machinery and automation, which would potentially deprive people of their livelihood. Our partners in the UK, US, INDIA and elsewhere are aware of the sea-change globally towards sustainability and more ethical ways of sourcing and are making this a goal for their businesses.
